The Prime Minister welcomed Princess Astrid, who is leading a high-level Belgian Economic Mission to India, to discuss trade, investment, technology, defence, and other key areas of cooperation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium, who is leading a high-level Belgian Economic Mission to India from March 1-8, 2025. He welcomed her and deeply appreciated her initiative in bringing a delegation of over 300 members, including business leaders, government officials, and representatives from various sectors.
This is the second time Princess Astrid has led an Economic Mission to India, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two nations. PM Modi recalled the positive association of the Belgian Royal Family with India and highlighted the ongoing collaboration between both countries in key sectors.
Discussions between PM Modi and Princess Astrid covered a broad range of topics, including trade, investment, technology, defence, innovation, clean energy, infrastructure, agriculture, skilling, academic exchanges, and cultural and people-to-people ties. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to identifying new opportunities for cooperation in emerging and high-impact sectors.
They agreed to work closely to enhance economic resilience, promote innovation-led growth, and deepen bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations. The meeting reinforced the strong and evolving partnership between India and Belgium, aiming for sustainable development and strategic collaboration across multiple industries.
